A lot of you have been asking why we are moving to Los Angeles, California so I decided to take some time and explain.
As most of you know Artist Vs Poet has gone through some pretty big changes over the past several months.
Joe K is now our lead singer/guitarist,
Our newest member Dylan Stevens is taking over lead guitar/backup vocals, and I (Jason) am still attempting to slap da bass. Because of some of these changes we have decided a move was in our best interest. We are moving to LA for a change of scenery. We are moving forward with the new Artist Vs Poet and living in one house together is one way we are able to do that. This will be the first time Artist Vs Poet has ever lived under one roof. We left behind friends, family, and jobs so that we have no distractions. However, we love and miss everyone back home dearly.
All three of us share the same goal and our entire focus is on this band.
Also, by living in California we will be much closer to a lot of people we work with daily so that is a huge plus.
Yes, in a lot of ways this is a risky move. We have just enough money to survive but more than enough heart to succeed.
Whenever a band goes through big changes like the ones we have suites and ties tend to freak out and lose faith. Well, we are not down with that. After several months of stupid politics and a lot of waiting we have decided to take matters into our own hands and move forward no matter what anyone else says or thinks.
Artist Vs Poet is more than just it’s band members and it’s a hell of a lot more than a single on the radio. We are a family made up of three musicians and a lot of friends and supporters.
We owe you all new music and we owe you all new tours. We are working everyday to make this happen.
We have recently funded a 5 song EP out of our own pocket which we will be finishing up in LA and digitally releasing in November and a single “Doin’ Alright” which will be out October 11th.
Moving to LA is not going to change who we are as people so no need to worry about that :)
We love you all and your love and support during all of this means the world to us.
We will see you all very soon and we can’t wait for you to hear the new music.
